Popular Capitol carpet socks are back

The socks patterned after carpet in the Oregon Senate, House of Representative and Governor's Office sold out at the Capitol gift shop at the end of the legislative session.

OREGON CAPITOL STORE - Capitol carpet socks by TCK SALEM - More than a month after the end of the Oregon Legislature's session, the Capitol gift shop has more Capitol carpet socks back in stock.

The socks, patterned after carpet in the Senate, House of Representatives and Governor's Office, quickly sold out when they were debuted at the shop near the end of session.

"Finally! The Senate, House of Representatives and Governor's Office patterned socks are back in stock! S-XL, $14 each. #orleg #orpol #orcapitol," staff at the store tweeted out Friday, Aug. 11.

TWITTER - Twitter user @daniel7zimmer posts a photo of PDX carpet socks against the PDX carpet at the Portland airport.The socks are another illustration of Oregonians' fascination with carpet, though the socks have yet to surge in popularity compared with merchandise patterned off carpet at the Portland airport. The airport's carpet even has its own Twitter hashtag, #pdxcarpet and Twitter handle, @NewPDXCarpet. Visitors frequently photograph their feet on the carpet.
