Biden endorses Gov. Brown

The former vice president, who is seen as a frontrunner for the Democratic nomination for president, has been headlining a series of midterm election events for Democrats, The Hill reported.

Kate Brown in her bid for reelection to a second and final term.

"Kate's record of strong, progressive leadership has helped put Oregon at the forefront of the nation's future," Biden said in a statement.

He praised Brown for seeking to help working families, improve schools, boost equity for Oregonians, protect the environment and increase access to health care.

Brown faces off with moderate Republican Rep. Knute Buehler of Bend Nov. 6.

"It's an honor to have the support of Vice President Biden," Brown said. "His humble and steadfast leadership has always been an inspiration to me. I'm glad to have him on my team."

The former vice president is a front-runner for president in some 2020 Democratic primary polls and has been consistently featured in the news, according to a Wednesday article by The Hill. He's scheduled to headline a series of midterm election events for Democrats, the political news website reported.
