Buehler, Brown among most chatty gubernatorial candidates
Gov. Kate Brown and her GOP opponent, State Rep. Knute Buehler, are among the most talkative candidates on certain topics on social media, according to Quorum, a public affairs software company.
Thirty-six states have gubernatorial elections this year.
The group looked at the 10 most vocal gubernatorial candidates on social media on several policy buzzwords: education, jobs, health care, Medicaid, opioids, Trump, immigration, taxes, and guns.
For Brown, her most popular issue was health care, which she mentioned 98 times, making her the second-most vocal candidate on the issue behind Democratic candidate for Maryland governor Ben Jealous, who mentioned it 217 times.
Brown also got into the top 10 on guns and immigration: 50 and 22.
Buehler mentioned education 136 times, taxes 124 times, opioids 27 times, and Medicaid 33 times.
Buehler, an orthopedic surgeon, was the only Republican candidate among the candidates who mentioned Medicaid the most.
