It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Oregon Capitol.

OREGON CAPITAL INSIDER - Children perform in the Capitol rotunda during the 2017 Christmas season in this file photograph.Earlier this week, workers were setting up trees, lights and other decorations. Things really kick off next Tuesday, Nov. 27, with the annual tree lighting ceremony.

There are two real trees at the state capitol this year — one from the Tillamook StateForest and another from the Willamette National Forest.

A choir from South Salem High School will perform at 5 p.m. and the official lighting is at 5:30.

Afterward, cookies and punch will be served and you can get your photo taken with Santa Claus.

Between Nov. 29 and Dec. 21, you can pop by the capitol for choral performances nearly every day, except Sunday, by local schools. You can also stream the Monday through Friday performances on OLIS.

The performance schedule is available at oregoncapitol.com.
