Senate Republican Leader Herman Baertschiger, Jr., R-Grants Pass, invited Senate President Peter Courtney, D-Salem, to watch the Super Bowl game together.

The New England Patriots will play the Los Angeles Rams Sunday, Feb. 3.

"You know, it never quits around here," Baertschiger said. "He's Patriots, I'm Rams, here we go."

Courtney declined. He says big games stress him out.

"My wife loves it, she'll sit there get all excited, and I'm gone, walking around the neighborhood," Courtney said, adding that he sometimes goes to Fred Meyer and pretends he's shopping to pass the time. "...I cannot take it. I cannot take it. I can't stand it, I can't stand it."

"He said I'd drive him crazy," Baertschiger said. "Actually, I said he'd drive me crazy."
