Jeff Gudman, the GOP candidate for state treasurer, his 25-year-old Buick is a sign of his frugality.

The 1991 LeSabre, a somewhat rusty gray model with a red interior, was featured in a recent ad on the candidate’s Facebook page, in between endorsements from former Portland Mayor Tom Potter and the League of Women Voters’ Video Voter Guide.

“It smells worse than it looks,” Gudman says in the recent ad, leaning against the vehicle. “But I’m frugal, which you want from a state treasurer.”

It’s one of the more popular videos on his Facebook page — with 22,000 views.
