- GOV. KATE BROWN'S CAMPAIGN - First Gentleman Dan Little and Gov. Kate Brown
SALEM — Oregon’s First Gentleman Dan Little has opened a Twitter account, and it resonates with adoration for his wife, Gov. Kate Brown.
In the new account, @OregonFirstGent, Little describes himself as an “outdoor enthusiast, Oregon’s First Gentleman,” and “big fan of @OregonGovBrown.” He had 45 followers as of Wednesday, June 21.
Little’s debut on Twitter this month coincides with his more active role in Brown’s campaign for reelection in 2018.
Little wrote to Brown’s campaign email recipients June 20 to introduce himself and remind them that June 21 is the governor’s birthday. (That makes Gov. Brown a Gemini. Stay tuned for Little’s astrological sign.)
“Kate and I have spent the last 20 years supporting one another. Kate’s birthday is tomorrow and for her birthday I’d love to show her she has Oregon’s support as well,” Little wrote Tuesday.
“I want to give her a birthday card signed by as many of you as I can tomorrow morning!”
Interestingly, Little has knowingly or unknowingly imitated a campaign fund-raising strategy of Brown’s presumed GOP challenger, Rep. Knute Buehler. The Republican from Bend has used birthdays and his wedding anniversary as an opportunity to solicit campaign contributions with online greeting cards.
