CAPITAL BUREAU - The latest transportation funding proposal reduces spending from $8.2 billion to $4 billion.

If state government held a web traffic contest, who would win?

The Oregon Department of Transportation has gotten the single most unique page views in the past year, at 10,740,084. (A possible culprit, we wager: the DMV).

OHA is in second place, with 7,751,816, and the Oregon Employment Department in third at 7,106,773.

As far as specific pages go, job sites for the state are perennially popular, says Wally Rogers, manager of Oregon E-Government and Transparency in the office of the State Chief Information Technology officer.

“I’ve been doing this for over a decade and in Oregon, Employment and Government jobs pages have always been among the most visited webpages by Oregonians,” Rogers said in an email.

When it comes to specific pages, in the past month at least, visitors have been heading to the state’s job postings en masse and perusing the Department of Forestry’s wildfire statistics page and DEQ’s air quality map. Visits to certain sites and pages also tend to be seasonal, Rogers notes.

“For example, in the months leading up to April 15th, we see a surge in visits to the Department of Revenue and then they drop back down in visits,” Rogers says.

Here are the 10 state web sites that received the most unique page views in the past year, by agency:

1) Oregon Department of Transportation

2) Oregon Health Authority

3) Oregon Employment Department

4) Oregon Judicial Department

5) Secretary of State

6) Department of Human Services

7) Department of Revenue

8) Oregon.gov

9) Department of Corrections

10) Bureau of Labor and Industries
