Checkbook check: Rep. Vikki Breese-Iverson, R-Prineville, received $5,000 from tobacco manufacturer R.J. Reynolds of North Carolina. Sen. Tim Knopp, R-Bend, received $5,000 from PhRMA. Rep. Jason Kropf, D-Bend, received $3,000 from the Oregon Hospital PAC. Rep. Jack Zika, R-Redmond, received $1,000 from Koch Industries of Wichita, Kansas
Sen. Betsy Johnson has received $12,500 from Portland developer Vanessa Sturgeon and $10,000 each from David, John and Martin Nygaard, who all list themselves as “loggers” with Warrenton Fiber.

Engineers Political Education Committtee, $50,000 from New York venture capitalist Bradley Tusk. Received $25.000 from Oregon Realtors PAC, La Mota founder and chairman Aaron Mitchell.
Getting out: Five Republicans and one Democrat say they won’t seek re-election to the U.S. Senate in 2022. The move will leave open seats currently held by Repubilcans in Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Alabama, and Missouri. The Senate seat in Vermont held by Democrats will be open.
