Gerry Frank

The public is invited to attend a celebration of life for renowned Oregon businessman, philanthropist and civic leader Gerry Frank on Thursday, May 19 in Salem.

According to longtime friends planning the service, the event will begin at 10 a.m. at Salem Convention Center, 200 Commercial St. SE. Those who wish to attend are asked to RSVP at gwfcelebration@gmail.com.

Doors will open at 9 a.m. for the celebration, which will include photos, music and special speakers. Cake provided by the Salem bakery Gerry Frank’s Konditorei will be served. Frank founded the bakery in 1982, and sold it in 2017.

Frank was the sole judge of the chocolate cake contest at the Oregon State Fair for 60 years.

Donations in memory of Gerry Frank may be made to the Gerry Frank Center for Children’s Care at Providence St. Vincent Medical Foundation, the Oregon State Police Foundation and the Oregon Historical Society.
