Teresa Rainey has been elevated to the new position of director of equity and inclusion at the Oregon Employment Department, joining the executive management team. For several years, she has served as OED’s equity and inclusion officer.
Patrick Phillips, provost and senior vice president at the University of Oregon, will take over as interim president on Saturday. Michael Schill’s last day is Friday before leaving to become president of Northwestern University, although he will serve as an adviser to Phillips until Sept. 11. The UO trustees appointed Phillips, provost since 2019, on Tuesday.
Olivia Mannon, who in June completed her master of public administration at UO, is the new legislative aide for state Rep. Nancy Nathanson, D-Eugene. Nathanson chairs the influential House Revenue committee.
Pamela Leavitt, owner of Northwest Advocacy Group in Tigard, is now Oregon vice president of regional grassroots and political programs/legislative affairs at GoWest Credit Union Association. The Northwest and Mountain West credit union associations merged this summer to form the six-state association. Cameron Smith, who served as director of the Oregon Department of Veterans’ Affairs and then the Department of Consumer and Business Services, is the association’s vice president of strategic partnerships and resources.
Stacy Shaw, senior product marketing manager at the Oregon Lottery, has been elected to the board of directors for Responsible Gambling Council of Canada, an independent nonprofit. She is the first board member from the U.S.
