Gov. Kate Brown appointed Kelly Kuklenski of Tualatin and Ronnee Kliewer of Portland to the State Board of Parole and Post-Prison Supervision to complete the unexpired terms of Patty Cress and Michael Hsu. Cress accepted a position at the Department of Corrections. Hsu went to the Oregon Judicial Department.
Brown also appointed retiring state Sen. Lee Beyer, D-Springfield, to the Oregon Transportation Commission, succeeding Alando Simpson. The Oregon Senate will meet Sept. 23 to act on Brown’s nominations.
Lara Moore and Richard Chaves will serve as interim co-presidents of Eastern Oregon University, as had been recommended by departing President Tom Insko. Moore was the university’s vice president of finance and administration. Chaves, who chaired the board of trustees, agreed to resign from the board to take on his new duties. Their term as interim co-presidents began Thursday.
Lane Thompson is the student loan ombuds, a new position within the Division of Financial Regulation at the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services.
Mary McRobinson, manager of the Reference and Publications Unit for the Oregon State Archives, has been elected to the Academy of Certified Archivists board. She will serve as treasurer.
