The top leadership is changing at the Oregon State Police. Deputy Superintendent John Harrington is retiring Dec. 31 and will be replaced by Major Casey Codding on Jan. 1. Superintendent Terri Davie, whom Gov. Kate Brown promoted to the job two years ago, will retire Jan. 31. Gov.-elect Tina Kotek will appoint the new superintendent. OSP Capt. Stephanie Bigman, who handles government and media relations, also is retiring at year’s end and will be replaced by Capt. Kyle Kennedy.

U.S. Rep.-elect Laurie Chavez-DeRemer, R-5th District, has named Jihun Han as her Washington, D.C.-based chief of staff when the new Congress takes office next month. Han was Chavez-DeRemer’s campaign communications director in Oregon. He previously was a staffer for state Rep. Jack Zika, R-Redmond, who opted not to seek reelection this year.

Jennifer Sitton, who was communications director for independent gubernatorial candidate Betsy Johnson, has opened her own strategic communications firm, Sitton Strategies.

MaryMichelle Sosne has joined the Legislative Fiscal Office as analyst for the human services program area and the Board of Nursing and the Commission for the Blind budget assignments. Vivian Stair was hired as the LFO administrative specialist as Joan Green moves to committee assistant.

Becca Byerley, chief of staff for outgoing Rep. Marty Wilde, D-Eugene, has taken a job advocating for children’s mental health. Wilde unsuccessfully sought Gov. Brown’s appointment to fill a Lane County Circuit Court vacancy and then lost the Nov. 8 election to that appointee, Judge Beatrice Grace.
