Oregon insiders: Who’s who in and around state government

Barry Pack, whose departure as Oregon Lottery director coincided with Gov. Tina Kotek’s inauguration, is now working for Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler as a senior adviser. He will represent the Mayor’s Office in implementing Measure 26-288, which voters approved last year to restructure city government.

Nate Stice has rejoined the Oregon governor’s Regional Solutions team, serving the North Central and North Coast regions. He previously was a Regional Solutions coordinator and director for Gov. Kate Brown.

Sarah Evans, deputy communications manager for the Oregon Youth Authority, will move to the Oregon Judicial Department next month as communications coordinator. 

Krystal Stone is the new broadband equity and deployment coordinator for the Oregon Broadband Office. 

Annalisa Bhatia left the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, where she was senior legislative advisor and tribal liaison. She now is at Massachusetts Institute of Technology as associate director in the Office of Government and Community Relations.

Thomas Baker joined the Oregon Environmental Council as legislative director.

Ricardo Lujan Valerio, who was a policy director for the city of Portland, now is director of government relations at Western Oregon University.
