The National Association of Attorneys General elected Oregon AG Ellen Rosenblum as president. For her presidential initiative, she intends to tackle youth-oriented issues, including the impact of various technology platforms; vaping, alcohol and drugs; dating violence; and bullying.

Col. Michael B. Kosderka will lead the Oregon Air National Guard’s 142nd Wing, located at the Portland Air National Guard Base. He succeeds Col. Todd A. Hofford as wing commander, overseeing nearly 1,400 personnel who protect the U.S. airspace from Northern California to Canada, along with serving international deployments and state missions. Kosderka was director of staff for the Oregon Air National Guard, Joint Force Headquarters in Salem. Hofford’s new assignment is at the Air National Guard Readiness Center, Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.

Jimmy Godard is the state’s new chief technology officer. He will oversee Enterprise Information Services’ Strategy and Design program. Godard had a long career at Bank of America as a senior vice president.

Jolene Kelley, who until 2021 was the longtime public information officer for Marion County, now is a public affairs specialist for Oregon State Police.

Scott McLean, who was a legislative aide this year for state Sen. Dick Anderson, R-Lincoln City, is campaign manager for Monique DeSpain, a Republican candidate in Oregon’s 4th Congressional District. McLean also managed H. Otto Wachsmann Jr.’s successful reelection campaign this year for the Virginia House of Delegates.

Margo Miller now is a legislative aid for Rep. Lisa Reynolds, D-Beaverton.

William Anderson, who was chief of staff for Rep. Ben Bowman, D-Tigard, moved to Lake Oswego-based Eames Consulting.

Appointed to the Legislature’s Joint Committee on Ballot Measure Titles and Explanatory Statements by House Speaker Dan Rayfield were Reps. Paul Holvey, D-Eugene, co-chair; Kim Wallan, R-Medford; and Bowman. Senate President Rob Wagner appointed Senate Majority Leader Kate Lieber, D-Portland, co-chair; Senate Republican Leader Tim Knopp of Bend; and Sen. James Manning Jr., D-Eugene.

Gov. Tina Kotek will appoint a replacement for Multnomah County Circuit Judge Kathryn L. Villa-Smith, who is retiring Dec. 31. The new judge will be assigned to the Family Law Department.

Carlos Fuentes is The Oregonian’s state politics and government reporter. After nearly seven years on that beat, Hillary Borrud last spring moved to investigative reporting. Fuentes had been city and federal reporter at The Columbian in Vancouver.
