Former state Rep. Scott Bruun now is vice president for government affairs at Oregon Business & Industry, where he has been director of tax and fiscal policy. OBI promoted Sharla Moffett to senior policy director. She will continue handling energy, environment, natural resources and infrastructure policy.

Derek Sangston, who was legislative director for Senate President Peter Courtney and previously an aide for Sen. Mark Hass, joined OBI as policy director overseeing employment/labor, retail and liability policy and as counsel. Katie Koenig was promoted to public affairs manager and will manage education, workforce and health care policy.

Josh Nasbe, who was a senior assistant attorney general in the Department of Justice, moved to the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries as legislative director.

Anna Braun, a former chief of staff and longtime aide to Senate President Courtney, joined Dalton Advocacy as a lobbyist. Braun also had been BOLI’s legislative director during 2013-14.

Gina Zejdlik, who was Gov. Kate Brown’s last chief of staff and had worked for Brown since 2013, was hired by Atlas Agro as director of policy and government affairs.

The Oregon Environmental Quality Commission named two finalists for DEQ director: Leah Feldon, interim director of the Department of Environmental Quality, and former congressional candidate Jamie McLeod-Skinner, regional emergency coordinator with the state Department of Human Services. Former director Richard Whitman took a part-time position as Klamath coordinator for the Oregon Water Resources and Fish & Wildlife departments.

Brittany Oxford is the new community assistance forester with the Oregon Department of Forestry. She replaces Katie Lompa, who retired.

Beth Schoenbach, who was communications director for 4th District Rep. Peter DeFazio during 2015-2021, was named vice president of communications at Autos Drive America.
