With everything happening in Salem during this legislative session, it would have been easy for legislators to toss aside the needs of higher education.
But thanks to Rep. Ben Bowman and others, the legislature has proposed a budget that would include significant investments for higher education this biennium.
Thank you, Rep. Bowman, for investing in Oregon’s students and public universities this year.
While this investment is critical, there is more work to do to improve state funding for public universities in Oregon. Universities are expanding support services to meet students’ growing needs, both during the transition to college and throughout their campus experience.
As an Oregon Tech alumnus from ’04 and a devoted father of two, with my daughter attending Metzger Elementary School (Class of 2032) and my son at Fowler Middle School (Class of 2028), I understand the importance of quality education.
Our universities are striving to support students throughout their college journey, ensuring minimal financial burden.
Rep. Bowman and other legislators have made an essential investment in higher education this biennium.
Let’s continue advocating for Oregon’s students, ensuring universities can provide the necessary services without overburdening them financially.
Together, we can fight for improved state funding, benefiting students, families, and our entire community.
As a concerned parent, I urge our legislators to prioritize higher education, striving to provide accessible and high-quality learning opportunities.
Let’s work towards a brighter future for Oregon’s students!
