Since we launched in October 2021, we’ve become a trusted source of news and enterprise stories about state politics, policy, lawmakers, the governor and state agencies. And because we allow other news sites to republish our work for free, we’ve become a wire service for high-quality coverage for news organizations across the state. Our stories are picked up more than 80 times a week, including in the Portland area. Without our coverage, readers in many places like Wallowa, John Day, St. Helens, Milwaukie, Corvallis, Philomath, Newport and Ashland would not be as well informed about how state officials spend your money and enact policies that affect your lives.
Our reporters also frequently appear on radio and TV stations, talking about Oregon developments, including on MSNBC and Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. And they’ll be moderating some upcoming candidate forums.
With the Legislature over, we’re now diving into election coverage, and we need your help. We don’t charge readers or other news outlets. We don’t publish ads or sponsored articles, and we don’t accept bids to post paid links. We rely entirely on donors. If you can, even if it’s only $10 a month, please contribute. We could use some help paying for election-related travel and an occasional photographer and just keeping the lights on in our modest office in downtown Salem. We’re a 501(c)3, which means your donations are tax deductible. To donate, click here.
Thank you so much,
Lynne Terry, editor-in-chief
